Part 2: Dental Workplace Safety Hazards-Dental Lasers: Employer and Employee Insights

This course centers on eye and respiratory safety during dental laser treatments and concludes a two-part series on dental workplace safety. A workplace scenario demonstrates how a dentist's eagerness to adopt laser technology overshadows team training and jeopardizes safety protocols. The incident resulted in an action plan protocol of critical safety measures for every laser treatment, protecting professionals and patients. This course offers practical strategies to enhance a culture of safety in the dental workplace when using dental laser technology. Emphasis is on laser safety communication through training, labeling, checklists, and signage. Practical charts clarify the four requirements to manage class IV laser risks. Cited are references to trusted resources and regulatory standards. A discussion guide, key takeaways, and a video quiz encourage team learning.
