This course is designed to equip dental leadership with the knowledge and skills necessary to establish, support and maintain effective infection control programs. Participants will gain insights into compliance standards, and best practices that ensure a safe environment for both staff and patients. A variety of tools and resources essential for the creation and support of a robust infection control program will be outlined, as well as exploring methods for creating awareness, implementing training, and sustaining a culture of adherence to infection control protocols.

  1. Understand the State and Federal requirements surrounding infection control for the dental practice.
  2. Identify tools and resources available to create and support a comprehensive infection control program.
  3. Discuss strategies to engage staff through creating, implementing, and maintaining an effective infection control program.

Sarah Stream, MPH, CDIPC, CDA, FADAA

Sarah is a seasoned dental professional, educator, public health professional and speaker. She is passionate about being a lifelong learner and sharing knowledge with other dental professionals on creating a safe dental visit and compliance, winning the Association for Dental Safety’s 2024 Emerging Infection Control Leader award. She currently specializes in OSHA, HIPAA, and infection control, supporting dental facilities with their education and compliance needs. She has had multiple professional articles published in the Journal of the American Medical Directors Association (JAMDA), Infection Control and Hospital Epidemiology (ICHE), the Journal of the American Dental Association (JADA) and Dr. Bicuspid.
