Dental practices today often have different protocols that are conflicting and perhaps not in line with regulatory agencies. It is not uncommon that several age groups work together, which can bring about different learned behaviors. Whether an office is in a busy city that generates a large revenue or a low-income clinic, both share common mistakes. Work practice variations occur within the dental industry that can contribute to a decrease in patient and employee safety. This course addresses 10 common mistakes that are found throughout dental practices no matter the environment. Participants will assess the current regulatory guidelines and determine how they can implement them into their daily duties efficiently.

Learning Objectives:

1. Identify 10 common mistakes seen in dental offices that serve different types of socio-economic areas of both rural and urban neighborhoods.
2. Evaluate current OSHA and CDC guidelines pertaining to infection control practices in the dental setting.
3. Summarize the current standards that dictate infection control practices and how to implement them into your practice with efficiency.
