The goal of the session is to introduce burnout, resilience, and wellness measures in dentistry. Researchers have studied burnout among dental professionals throughout their careers, from students to seasoned dentists. Dentistry is an inherently stressful practice, and additional responsibilities outside of patient care can lead to more stress. Participants will learn about the key dimensions of burnout. They will also self-assess using a burnout inventory tool, strategize how to use inventories to create change in their communities, or brainstorm ways to change institutional environments to reduce stress.
