Ms. Julie M. Richards is a Registered Nurse and certified in infection prevention and control. Prior to joining DHA, Ms. Richards served as the director of infection prevention and control at a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) where she collaborated with state and local public health to deliver quality, safe care to the underserved of Kansas City. She was implemental in operationalizing COVID-19 testing and vaccination sites in those communities hardest hit by the pandemic. Ms. Richards also established and operationalized a new centralized Sterile Processing Center from the ground up. She has participated in many local, state, and national speaking engagements as well as being published. She holds fellowship with the Association of Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology (APIC) and has served on their local board and national committees. Ms. Richards serves as a trusted expert and assist in implementing guidance for infection preventionists throughout the MHS. Her passion is educating and presenting on infection prevention and control.
