2025 ADS Annual Conference: Update on Emerging and Returning Infectious and Vector-Borne Diseases (On-Demand)

Infectious Diseases have led to challenges for the dental team, the most obvious example being SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19). It is important that the dental team stay up to date on the latest emerging and reemerging infectious and vector-borne diseases. Presently, West Nile Virus, Dengue fever, Eastern Equine Encephalitis, Avian Influenza A (H5N1), and Mpox are impacting parts of the US and the globe. The latest clade of Mpox has the ability to be transmitted via droplets. The United States has documented the first case of Avian Influenza transmitted without exposure to dairy cattle or birds. What do we need to add to our medical updates at each patient visit? This session will cover the most relevant infectious and vector-borne diseases, including symptoms, management, and challenges to overcome to ensure a culture of safety.
