For decades, infection prevention has depended on single-use products. But today, this model creates growing problems: overwhelming waste, rising costs, and exposure of patients and healthcare workers to toxic additives such as PFAS. The time has come to re-think protection. In this session, we present certified, reusable medical textiles—masks, gowns, drapes, and sterilization packaging—that deliver submicron-level filtration, are fully washable, sterilizable, and recyclable, and meet infection-control standards without harmful chemicals. Born out of frontline shortages during the pandemic, these innovations have since been adopted in hospitals, dental clinics, and health systems across Canada, Europe, and the U.S. Participants will gain an inside view of: Why change is urgent: The environmental, clinical, and financial risks of disposables, and how reusables address them. How to use them safely: Proven workflows for sterilization, traceability, and compliance in real clinical settings. What to expect: Evidence-based results on safety, cost efficiency, and environmental impact—along with barriers and solutions for successful implementation. We will share pilot outcomes, lessons from healthcare teams, and tools for integrating reusables into daily infection-prevention practices, including digital traceability systems that protect both staff and patients. By the end of the webinar, attendees will understand how reusable infection-control solutions protect patients, empower staff, reduce costs, and cut pollution—transforming dental and medical practices from being part of the waste problem to leading the way in prevention.
