The third annual Antibiotic Stewardship Summit, held on February 2, 2025, in Atlanta, GA, amplified new national data and relevant emerging legal developments. Participants reviewed research from different parts of the country and internationally and examined a variety of stewardship toolkits. Participants also learned how to design policy for their practice/institution as an immediately actionable takeaway. All sessions were recorded and are available for FREE!

The topics covered included:

  • Dental Prescribing Data: Understand the current landscape of dental prescribing patterns upon which to build antibiotic stewardship strategies.
  • Legal Developments: Current and emerging legal issues pertaining to antibiotic prescribing were discussed.
  • Research Roundtable: Surveys, algorithms, literature reviews, and other emerging research will help support and refine successful antibiotic stewardship activities.
  • Stewardship Program Spotlight: An innovative state toolkit was spotlighted (and information on additional toolkits shared) to demonstrate strategies to reduce unnecessary antibiotic prescriptions, implement guidelines for antibiotic use, and educate staff and patients.
  • Developing a Practice or Institutional Policy on Antibiotic Stewardship: Participants were guided through the steps in drafting an official antibiotic stewardship policy for their facility.
