Commander Downey, a native of Philadelphia, PA, was commissioned in 2009 and holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Neumann Univerity in Aston, PA. She furthered her education with a Master's of Science in Nursing Administration from Liberty University. She is a certified Perioperative Nurse (CNOR). Throughout her distinguished career, she has served in various roles, including manager of Walter Reed National Military Medical Center's Main Operating Room and Sterile Processing Department. Most recently, she serves has lead of dental Sterile Processing for Naval Postgraduate Dental School in Bethesda, Maryland. She has been married for 15 years to her husband Harre and they have three beautiful daughters; Lianna (14), Vanessa (11), and Alessandra (6).
Dr. Turner is a native of Minnesota. She received a Bachelor of Science from the University of Minnesota and her Doctorate of Dental Medicine from the University of Florida. Post-doctoral education includes a general practice residency at Naval Hospital Camp Pendleton and a Masters in Oral and Maxillofacial radiology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She is board certified in infection prevention and control and currently serves as the high level disinfection and sterilization Navy clinical community co-chair. Dr. Turner has been serving in military dentistry for over 10 years. She enjoys spending time with her family and playing tennis.
